When steel rolls on steel, friction and noise are generated. By applying Schunk flange lubrication, you measurably reduce wear and operating costs. And the annoying squeaky noise is reduced to a minimum.

The principle of Schunk flange lubrication is simple: a carbon-based dry lubricant reduces the frictional forces between flange and rail. This is achieved by fitting a holder and a lubricant nipple directly to the bogie. The nipple is pressed against the flange by a spring and ensures constant lubrication at the correct dosage. The result is significantly reduced wear — and thus also a longer service life for both wheels and rails.
